Do I have to answer questions that I don't want to answer?
I will never push you to disclose or do something that you're not ready to say or do. Having said that, there are times during which therapy will cause discomfort, due to the fact that you are talking about uncomfortable things in your life. I will offer you a safe space to share your difficult experiences, thoughts, and feelings, when you are ready to do so.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance. Your insurance may pay for out-of-network providers. I encourage you to ask your insurance company if this is the case. One of the several benefits of paying privately is the increased confidentiality for the client because information is not shared with the insurance company. Additionally, in a private pay context the client and therapist have much more flexibility and choice regarding the frequency and number of sessions, as well as the type of treatment and focus of therapy. Lastly, private pay gives the client the freedom to see his or her therapist of choice. Choosing a therapist is an extremely important decision as feeling comfortable with your therapist is essential if you want to get the most out of your therapy experience.
How long are your sessions?
Our initial interview will last approximately 55 minutes. Thereafter, sessions are 45 minutes for individual clients and 90 minutes for couples.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. I have an ethical and professional obligation to maintain confidentiality of information shared during our sessions. You will be informed about confidentiality and its limits in more detail during our first meeting.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash or checks at the beginning of each session.
